Some previous and present projects that I handled has shown me that linux is not only “intra-lab” operating system anymore. From the famous bluecoat box to the new-entry Mc Afee IPS show me that linux also powerfull tools. These device used hardened Linux kernel, so it can be filled-in on small Megs of ROM.A smart way, but moreover this is a clever business trick, yup trully, could you imagine how much fund to be spent if each of them develop their own OSes ?
Anyway this consideration has brought me back to my linux memory, so I decided to install a new redhat distro on my Notebook.
But I didn't want to use double-boot as my last experience, so I decided to use Vmware in order to have both of my OSes run together.(I will tell my experience with Vmware later, hopefully :) ).
Here I want talk about why I choose Redhat. Anyway, for some “native-linuxers” Redhat may be not a “right religion” anymore, this distro has flaged it own business ( I am not so sure about the reason, may be the owner just want to compete with Bill Gates :), to be a commecial linux. Exactly Redhat not the only one which has commercialized it products, there're also Suse, Mandrake etc, but Redhat has settled itself to be the industry standard of linux. Many companies use Redhat as proven platform of Linux.
Moreover Redhat not lost its social feeling, it also keep in pace with the free-linux, of course with new brand, Fedora, which we still can touch Redhat environment.
Finaly everybody has their own preference, so with me:).
